[Asia Economy Reporter Hyunseok Yoo] Korea Airports Corporation announced on the 6th that it unveiled an artificial intelligence (AI) X-ray image automatic interpretation solution jointly developed with Deepnoid at CES 2023, the world's largest international electronics exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA.
On the 5th (local time), Korea Airports Corporation showcased an AI-based aviation security solution at the local exhibition venue that prevents aircraft terrorism and blocks the pre-boarding of various hazardous materials. The corporate security solution, which detects company information protection items such as USBs and cameras to prevent information leakage, received great responses from visitors.
This solution uses an AI-based deep learning algorithm to quickly and accurately interpret detected items. It shortens security screening waiting times and improves security screening efficiency by minimizing human errors through visual interpretation support.
In April last year, the corporation delivered the product to the National Information Resources Service under the Ministry of the Interior and Safety. After being recognized for product excellence and registered as an innovative product by the Public Procurement Service in June, it was subsequently supplied to the National Assembly and major domestic corporations by the end of last year and is currently in operation.
Yoon Hyung-jung, President of Korea Airports Corporation, said, “We are honored to unveil the corporation’s AI X-ray automatic interpretation solution at the world’s largest exhibition,” and added, “We will accelerate efforts to enter not only the domestic but also the global market.”
Meanwhile, the corporation plans to exhibit the product at SECON 2023, the World Security Expo to be held at KINTEX in March, aiming to expand sales channels in domestic and overseas markets.
