[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Duyul] Air Busan started operating the first new route of the year, the Busan-Clark route, on the 5th.
On the 5th, Air Busan held a launch ceremony for the Busan-Clark route at 8:30 PM at the international terminal of Gimhae International Airport, with CEO Ahn Byung-seok and employees attending the event.
The first flight BX757, which started operation that day, quickly reached full capacity as soon as ticket sales opened.
Along with expanding routes to Japan, Air Busan has also significantly expanded its Southeast Asia routes since last month, continuing to improve its performance on two fronts.
Anticipating increased family travel demand during the winter vacation season, Air Busan resumed operations on the Busan-Kota Kinabalu route and actively increased the number of flights on major popular Southeast Asian routes such as Bangkok, Da Nang, and Nha Trang from both Gimhae Airport and Incheon Airport.
In November last year, Air Busan operated a total of 60 flights on three Southeast Asian routes?Bangkok, Cebu, and Da Nang?from Gimhae Airport, carrying about 9,000 passengers.
However, last month, the number of routes increased to five?Bangkok, Cebu, Da Nang, Nha Trang, and Kota Kinabalu?with a total of 142 flights, expanding the number of flights by approximately 2.37 times. The number of passengers increased even more, by 2.77 times, reaching over 25,000.
Air Busan’s Busan-Clark flights operate four times a week on Monday, Thursday, Friday, and Sunday, departing Gimhae International Airport at 9:30 PM and arriving at Clarkfield Airport in the Philippines at 12:10 AM.
The return flight departs the local airport at 1:40 AM and arrives at Gimhae International Airport at 6:10 AM. The flight time takes about 3 hours and 40 minutes.
