The Korea Golf Course Management Association (President Park Chang-yeol) donated a total of 3 billion KRW last year to socially vulnerable groups.
On the 6th, the Korea Golf Course Management Association announced through the '2022 Member Companies' Social Contribution Report' that the donations from 73 member golf courses nationwide reached approximately 3 billion KRW last year. Founded in 1974, the Korea Golf Course Management Association is a leading organization that promotes the rights and development of domestic golf courses.
The largest donor was Hanyang CC, renowned for its history and tradition, which contributed about 320 million KRW to support wildfire victims, flood victims, and neighbors in need. Following that, 88 CC under the Ministry of Patriots and Veterans Affairs donated approximately 299 million KRW to support the Military and Police Association, low-income families of national veterans, six veterans organizations, and golf scholarship students.
In addition, Century 21 (213 million KRW), Teddy Valley (200 million KRW), Blue One D’Aners (167 million KRW), Yangju (159 million KRW), and Pines (125 million KRW) carried out donation activities not only for local communities but also for those in need.
A representative of the Korea Golf Course Management Association stated, "Many golf courses close for extended periods during the winter season, and some golf courses affiliated with large corporations do not disclose specific social contribution amounts," adding, "The actual amount of social contribution donations is estimated to be much higher than the survey results."
