[Asia Economy Reporter Yoo Byung-don] On Friday the 6th, the whole country is expected to be mostly cloudy with rain or snow starting from daytime.
The precipitation is expected to begin in Jeju Island from daytime and expand to most regions nationwide by late afternoon.
Expected snowfall amounts are 3?8 cm in eastern Gyeonggi, inland and mountainous Gangwon, northern Chungbuk, and northern inland Gyeongbuk; 1?5 cm in eastern Seoul, northwestern Gyeonggi, central and southern Chungbuk, eastern Jeonbuk, and mountainous Jeju Island; and around 1 cm in western Seoul, Incheon, southwestern Gyeonggi, northern Gangwon East Coast, inland Chungnam, eastern inland Jeonnam, southern inland Gyeongbuk, and western inland Gyeongnam.
As of 7 a.m. on the day, temperatures in major areas are Seoul -4.2°C, Incheon -2.3°C, Suwon -7.2°C, Chuncheon -12.1°C, Gangneung -0.1°C, Cheongju -3.5°C, Daejeon -3.8°C, Jeonju -0.7°C, Gwangju -1.1°C, Jeju 6.6°C, Daegu -2.9°C, Busan 1.5°C, Ulsan 0.4°C, and Changwon -0.7°C.
The daytime high temperatures are forecasted to be between 3 and 11 degrees Celsius.
Fine dust concentrations are expected to be 'bad' in the Seoul metropolitan area, Yeongseo region of Gangwon, Chungcheong region, Honam region, Yeongnam region, and Jeju area, while 'moderate' in the Yeongdong region of Gangwon. Chungbuk, Gwangju, Jeonbuk, and Yeongnam are expected to experience temporarily 'very bad' levels in the morning.
Visibility will be reduced and roads slippery in areas with rain, so extra caution is advised.
In the central West Sea, there will be many places with gusty winds accompanied by thunder and lightning, so maritime safety accidents should be carefully watched for.
Sea waves will be 0.5?1.5 m in the East Sea coastal waters, 0.5?3.0 m in the West Sea coastal waters, and 0.5?1.5 m in the South Sea coastal waters.
Wave heights in the offshore waters (about 200 km from the coastline) are predicted to be 0.5?2.0 m in the East Sea, 0.5?3.5 m in the West Sea, and 0.5?2.5 m in the South Sea.
