[Las Vegas=Reporter Choi Seoyun] Choi Jaewon, Senior Vice Chairman of SK On, stated, "We are making significant efforts to achieve a turnaround to profitability at SK On as soon as possible."
On the morning of the 5th (local time), at CES 2023, the world's largest electronics and IT exhibition held at the Las Vegas Convention Center in the United States, Senior Vice Chairman Choi said, "There are too many variables, so I cannot speak specifically," while making this remark. SK On is the only one among the three domestic battery companies operating at a loss. It posted an operating loss of 134.6 billion won in the third quarter.
Regarding this year's investment plans, Senior Vice Chairman Choi said, "There is a publicly announced figure, and investments will be made according to that plan."
He added, "Although we focus more on industrial goods than consumer goods, I think various efforts for net zero are well represented. If you take a look around, you will be able to better understand the (net zero) activities that SK Group is undertaking."
On the same day, Senior Vice Chairman Choi toured the SK Group exhibition hall along with Cho Dae-sik, Chairman of the SK Supex Council, and Kim Jun, Vice Chairman of SK Innovation.
