Compared to the average tuition fee of four-year universities (University Information Disclosure) at 6,760,000 KRW and the average tuition fee of national universities (excluding special-purpose universities) at 4,107,000 KRW based on 2022 information disclosure standards, Suncheon National University's average tuition fee of 3,949,000 KRW is low even among all national universities.
President Ko Young-jin of Suncheon National University stated, "Due to the decrease in the school-age population, the enrollment rate of new students has sharply declined recently, resulting in poor university finances, but we decided to freeze tuition fees to minimize the financial burden on students and parents. Despite difficult financial conditions, we have achieved several accomplishments such as being selected as a general financial support university, and we are actively working to improve the campus environment through remodeling the library and student union building and securing the budget for constructing an advanced engineering building."
