Dexter Holds Unique New Year's Ceremony with Overseas Travel at Virtual Production Studio...

[Asia Economy Reporter Hyungsoo Park] Dexter held its New Year's kickoff ceremony at its own virtual production studio (D1) and took the first step of the new year with its executives and employees.

Visual effects (VFX) and content company Dexter Studio announced on the 5th that it held a unique kickoff ceremony with the concept of a ‘virtual overseas trip’ transcending time and space.

Founded on January 4, 2012, Dexter holds its anniversary ceremony and kickoff ceremony simultaneously every year. Since the COVID-19 pandemic, it has been conducting online kickoff ceremonies for three years. In 2021, it introduced an online kickoff ceremony system for the first time and broadcasted it via YouTube Live. Last year, it continued special attempts by holding a metaverse kickoff ceremony using Yumi’s Cells VR produced by Dexter. This year, marking its 11th anniversary, it provided long-term service awards and a virtual travel event using the virtual production system to 26 employees with 5 and 10 years of service.

A Dexter official who received the long-term service award in Paris, France said, "Receiving a long-term service award against the vividly recreated overseas background was a unique experience," and added, "Enjoying it with colleagues will be an unforgettable memory."

The quiz event conducted via real-time phone connection gave out tablet PCs as prizes, receiving great responses. The kickoff ceremony video was watched by executives and employees of affiliated companies through Dexter Studio’s official YouTube channel.

Lee Dongjun, head of the VP Division overseeing the virtual production business, said, "Dexter’s VP Division is carrying out various projects centered on LED studios and real-time engines," and added, "I am proud that we could directly share the experiences of the entire company’s executives and employees and the VP team at the kickoff ceremony."

He added, "This year as well, we will produce various contents using virtual production," and "We will strive to advance the virtual production pipeline and continue to take on challenges."

Co-CEOs Kim Wook and Kang Jongik also said, "Thanks to all the executives and employees, we were able to safely conclude last year," and "Thanks to the cooperation of the VP Division and various departments that prepared the unique kickoff ceremony, it became a meaningful and enjoyable event."
