[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] Professors Kim Kwang-il, Oh Min-cheol, and Lee Doo-hyung of the College of Aviation at Silla University were recently selected as 'Meritorious Persons for the Construction of Gadeokdo New Airport' and received commendations from the Mayor of Busan.
This commendation recognizes the contributions of industry-academic experts who helped promote the early opening of Gadeokdo New Airport.
Professor Lee Doo-hyung of the Department of Air Traffic Management stated, “Currently, the construction of Gadeokdo New Airport is progressing through the enactment of a special law, preliminary feasibility studies, exemption from preliminary feasibility, and the final review stage of the basic plan,” adding, “We will do our best to ensure the safe completion of Gadeokdo New Airport before the 2030 Busan World Expo.”
The College of Aviation at Silla University is the only aviation-specialized college in the southeastern region, consisting of five departments: Aviation Operations, Aircraft Maintenance, Aviation Service, Air Logistics, and Air Traffic Management. It aims to be a core university of the Northeast Asia logistics hub tri-port connecting airports, ports, and railroads, focusing on nurturing global aviation professionals.
