At the disciplinary committee, Mr. A and Mr. B, who were in charge of recruitment tasks, received minor disciplinary actions, while Mr. C received a major disciplinary action. This disciplinary action was taken two months after the completion of the Office of Education's special audit, which was conducted alongside the police investigation.
Ha Yun-su, Superintendent of Busan Metropolitan Office of Education, said, “Once again, I feel deep regret and heavy responsibility that such an incident occurred during the civil servant appointment exam process, and I will do my best to prevent such incidents from recurring in the future.” He added, “We will take this incident as a lesson and establish a foundation for clean and fair education in Busan that meets the expectations of Busan citizens.”
The Busan Metropolitan Office of Education reflected improvement plans for the examination system, created jointly with the Anti-Corruption and Civil Rights Commission’s ‘Public Institution Recruitment Corruption Eradication Task Force,’ to restore trust in educational administration and strengthen fairness.
According to the improvement plans, the Office of Education is implementing an examination system that includes enhanced verification of the announcement system for successful candidates, extended interview times, and participation of external observers.
