[Asia Economy Reporter Chunhee Lee] Daewon Pharmaceutical announced on the 5th that it has been certified as a ‘Family-Friendly Excellent Company’ by the Ministry of Gender Equality and Family for the third consecutive time.


The Family-Friendly Certification is a system that certifies companies and public institutions that exemplary operate family-friendly policies such as support for childbirth and childcare, and the creation of a family-friendly environment and culture to enable work-life balance. Daewon Pharmaceutical first received the certification in 2017, was re-certified in 2020, and has now succeeded in obtaining the certification three times in a row.


Daewon Pharmaceutical fosters an atmosphere where employees can freely use maternity leave and parental leave, allowing them to focus on childcare without burden. It also provides childcare expenses, educational subsidies, and university tuition support for employees’ children. Additionally, when employees have a third or subsequent child, a lump sum of 3 million KRW is paid, and an additional monthly childcare allowance of 300,000 KRW is provided separately from existing support until the child graduates from elementary school.


The company also has welfare and cultural support systems such as housing loan assistance, various congratulatory and condolence allowances, health management support for employees and their families, and a selective welfare benefits system. The selective welfare benefits system allows employees to freely use medical expenses, education expenses, cultural activity expenses, dining expenses, etc., within a given limit.


Furthermore, Daewon Pharmaceutical operates various family-friendly systems including flexible working hours, refresh leave, long-term service awards, active encouragement of annual leave use and on-time departure, and support for club activities.
