"Gmarket Targets Overseas Travelers with New Customized Search Service for Overseas Hotels"

One-Stop Service from Search to Payment

Gmarket announced on the 5th that it will launch a 'Customized Overseas Hotel Search' service within the travel category. By enhancing the entire process from hotel search to payment, which is an essential step in preparing for overseas travel, Gmarket is targeting the overseas travel market starting from the new year.

First, when entering hotel-related keywords in the integrated search on the Gmarket application, accessibility has been improved so that not only products but also the overseas hotel search function appears. The number of hotel products for sale has increased more than fivefold from the previous 100,000 to over 500,000.

Users can set up to 14 hotel search filters to find accommodations that meet all desired conditions, and through the 'View on Map' feature, they can see the locations and price ranges of various hotels listed after the search at a glance on a map. Multiple images and detailed room information of the searched hotels are also displayed on a single page. This improves upon the previous system, which only showed hotel exterior images and directed users to additional pages for room information.

In addition, the payment process has been simplified by minimizing unnecessary information input, and a feature has been introduced that allows users to directly proceed to flight ticket searches from the hotel reservation completion page if an airport is located near the booked hotel.

In partnership with the global hotel reservation platform Expedia, a promotion offering up to 200,000 KRW discount on hotels worldwide will run until the 15th. All customers booking hotels linked to Expedia through Gmarket can enjoy up to 100,000 KRW off with a '10% discount coupon' and an additional '5% overlapping discount coupon' that provides up to 100,000 KRW off when purchasing flight tickets, allowing for a maximum discount of 200,000 KRW. For some brand hotel reservations where discount coupons cannot be applied, a '10% SmileCash' benefit is also available, providing up to 100,000 KRW in SmileCash that can be used like cash on Gmarket.
