Over 70% of Customers Are in the 1020 Generation
CU announced on the 5th that it will significantly expand the number of stores operating the Printing Box output service just one year after its introduction.
Printing Box is an unmanned printing kiosk service that allows users to upload photos or documents stored on their PC or smartphone to a dedicated app cloud and then print them at nearby devices. It supports basic office tasks such as copying and scanning, as well as government civil services required for year-end tax settlement.
Since its introduction in January last year, Printing Box has grown from an initial 30 units to 350 units currently in operation. The average monthly usage per store has increased fourfold, from 100 to 400 uses. By age group, users in their teens (27.7%) and twenties (43.1%) account for more than 70% of total users.
A BGF Retail official stated, “As convenience stores play a leading role in culture, we are expanding the Printing Box service to enhance convenience for customers who enjoy subculture beyond mainstream culture. Going forward, CU will continue to pursue various forms of service partnerships and development to support the cultural lives of enthusiasts.”
