[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting 100 citizens for the Bus Semi-Public Operation System Evaluation Panel until the 18th of this month.
Selected panel members will conduct undercover evaluations from March to December 2024 on 125 bus routes subject to the semi-public operation system within the city, assessing comfort, friendliness, safety, and more.
Yongin City will assign 3 to 4 routes per person, divided into the first and second half of the year, considering the evaluator's residential area. Panel members who complete the evaluations will receive an activity allowance of 14,500 KRW per session. Any citizen aged 19 or older can become a panel member.
The city will notify the final selected panel members individually in February after screening.
A city official stated, "We operate the citizen evaluation panel to assess the bus semi-public operation service with a detailed and clear perspective," and urged, "Please apply actively to the citizen evaluation panel to provide citizen-centered public transportation services."
Meanwhile, the first-term evaluation panel boarded buses a total of 718 times, rating the bus comfort, driver friendliness, and safe driving on a five-level scale: very dissatisfied, dissatisfied, average, satisfied, and very satisfied. The panel's average score was 86.94 points, reflecting a positive perception of the clean uniforms and bus comfort, while noting that friendliness aspects such as greetings and response attitudes need improvement.
