Fire Agency Publishes and Distributes '2022 Fire Facility Act Inquiry Response Collection'

[Asia Economy Reporter Kiho Sung] The National Fire Agency announced on the 5th that it will publish the "Firefighting Facilities Act Inquiry Response Collection," which compiles representative cases of complaints related to firefighting facilities from last year, and make it available to the public from the 12th on the websites of the National Fire Agency, fire stations, and the Korea Fire Safety Institute.

The 'Fire Technology Civil Complaints Center,' established as an organization within the National Fire Agency in August 2020 to comprehensively receive and handle complaints regarding the interpretation of laws related to firefighting facilities, began publishing this collection last year to help complainants better understand clear legal interpretations and facilitate smooth processing of their cases.

This inquiry response collection categorizes approximately 26,000 complaints handled last year into ▲132 cases related to the Firefighting Facilities Act ▲63 cases related to the Multi-use Establishments Act ▲47 cases related to the Firefighting Facilities Construction Business Act ▲63 cases related to Fire Safety Performance Standards ▲10 cases related to Seismic Design Standards for Firefighting Facilities, organizing similar and repetitive major complaint cases so that complainants can easily find them by law.

In the future, related content will be added to the response collection to provide clear answers to complainants regarding grievances or inquiries related to system improvements.

Choi Jaemin, Director of the Fire Analysis and System Division at the National Fire Agency, said, "We published this casebook to help complainants easily understand the somewhat complex matters related to firefighting facilities," and added, "We will continue to improve the casebook so that it can be used effectively."
