[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The first hearing for the injunction filed by the Itaewon Disaster Bereaved Families Association against the conservative group Shin Jayu Yeondae, which has been holding counter-demonstrations at the victims' memorial altar, will be held on the 17th.

According to the legal community on the 4th, the Seoul Western District Court Civil Division 21 (Chief Presiding Judge Lim Jeong-yeop) scheduled the injunction hearing requested by the bereaved families association against Shin Jayu Yeondae and its representative Kim Sang-jin for 2 p.m. on the 17th.

Recently, Shin Jayu Yeondae hung a banner near the Noksapyeong Station citizen memorial altar, prepared by the bereaved families association, with mocking remarks directed at the families and a message saying "Do not incite."

In response, the bereaved families applied to the court to prohibit Shin Jayu Yeondae from approaching within 100 meters of the memorial altar and from posting banners. They also filed for an injunction to preserve the mourning sentiment for the deceased by banning their access.
