Intense Scrutiny on the Circumstances of Scoreboard Revision
[Asia Economy Reporter Park Jun-yi] The fact that the members of the evaluation committee were collectively investigated by the prosecution in connection with allegations that the Korea Communications Commission deliberately lowered the scores during the 2020 re-approval process of the comprehensive programming channel TV Chosun.
According to the prosecution on the 4th, the Criminal Division 5 of the Seoul Northern District Prosecutors' Office (Chief Prosecutor Park Kyung-seop) summoned three evaluation committee members for questioning the previous day, and another one on the day.
The prosecution is known to have focused on questioning them about the specific circumstances under which the score sheets were modified.
It was also reported that they inquired whether there was any communication between the KCC officials and the evaluation committee members who actually assigned the scores during the score sheet modification process.
