[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced on the 4th that 'Jinsam Hwaseokyoon' (Red Ginseng) products manufactured and sold by Cospharm were found to contain the illicit substance 'Tadalafil,' leading to a suspension of sales and a recall of the products.
The recall targets products with an expiration date marked as February 7, 2023, with a production volume of 495.7 kg. The detected amount of Tadalafil was confirmed to be 1.28 mg/g. Tadalafil is one of the active ingredients used in erectile dysfunction treatments, with the original drug 'Cialis' being well known.
The Ministry of Food and Drug Safety has taken swift action to recall the affected products and has requested consumers who purchased these products to stop consumption and return them to the place of purchase.
