This schedule was promoted to encourage and urge Gijang-gun employees working on the front lines of civil complaints before the full-scale operation of the 8th term of the local government in 2023, and to boost morale.
Governor Jeong did not hesitate to encourage by shaking hands with each public official one by one and offering New Year's greetings, saying, “This year, the practical first year of the 8th term, is the best time to pursue our goals, so all employees should engrave in their hearts the attitude of 得時無怠 (Deuksi Mutae), meaning ‘When the time is right, do not be negligent but diligent to not miss opportunities,’ and strive to make Gijang a better place to live.”
As mentioned in his New Year's address on January 2, Governor Jeong Jong-bok said, “If last year was a time to improve past practices and plan new projects, 2023 is the time to actively realize foundational industries for Gijang’s future growth engines and long-awaited projects that residents can feel, and to produce results. The fulfillment of promises to residents depends on the efforts and passion of public officials,” emphasizing the role and sense of mission of public officials as servants of the residents.
