[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Hwang Du-yeol] The 1.87 million square meter Hwangsan Park waterfront area in Yangsan City, Gyeongnam Province, is being transformed into a leisure and relaxation space that anyone can enjoy.
On the 4th, Yangsan Mayor Na Dong-yeon held a New Year's press conference at the Yangsan City Hall main conference room and announced the "Nakdong River Hwangsan Park Comprehensive Maintenance Plan."
The press conference was attended by local journalists, citizen integration committee members, and the Nakdong River Council's working group, and was broadcast live online via Yangsan City's official YouTube channel.
The Nakdong River Council was formed to jointly respond to various regulations and institutional limitations of the Nakdong River and to find development plans utilizing cultural tourism resources.
During the briefing, Mayor Na Dong-yeon presented directions centered on four keywords: ▲Convenient Hwangsan Park ▲Safe Hwangsan Park ▲Happy Hwangsan Park ▲Clean Hwangsan Park, and led the session himself.
First, to enhance convenience for Hwangsan Park visitors, the city plans to open access roads, install water and sewage pipelines, upgrade the 30-seat ecological exploration boat to a 100-seat regular cruise ship, and install floating stores, shade shelters, picnic zones, and delivery zones to expand rest and convenience facilities.
For visitor safety, the city will operate a rapid alert system for vehicle flooding risks, prepare an on-site action manual for disaster preparedness, and expand CCTV surveillance in blind spots to create a safer environment for people of all ages to use and enjoy.
Content to enjoy a happy Hwangsan Park will also be significantly enhanced.
By 2025, seven themed eco-friendly ecological gardens will be completed, registered, and operated as the Gyeongnam Provincial Garden, with plans to pursue designation as a national garden in the future.
Additionally, family-participation playground facilities and a multipurpose water sports mooring will be installed, and the existing 36-hole park golf course will be expanded by 72 holes to operate a total of 108 holes. To expand camping facilities, 50 additional sites including an unplugged camping area will be created.
To maintain a clean Nakdong River Hwangsan Park, the city plans to conduct daily regular cleaning and disinfection, strengthen crackdowns on environmental pollution violations, and operate on-site manuals and a control room for monitoring and managing water pollution sources.
Mayor Na Dong-yeon of Yangsan said, "The Nakdong River, the lifeline and living space of Yeongnam, is now at the cusp of a new change," adding, "The revitalization of Hwangsan Park will be the first step, and the miracle of the Nakdong River will begin with the activation of Hwangsan Park."
The mayor added, "Depending on how Nakdong River Hwangsan Park is cultivated and utilized, it will bring even greater gifts," and said, "I am confident it will be a true benefactor that transforms from a place of rest in nature to a space for culture and experience, driving Yangsan's urban development and regional economic revitalization."
