[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi-do, continued his communication efforts from the beginning of the new year by having lunch with on-site workers on the 4th.

On this day, Governor Kim invited 38 on-site workers at the provincial office, including security guards and cleaners, to a luncheon meeting to encourage them, saying, "Thank you for your hard work in places that many people do not recognize or see well," and added, "Even though it seems like you are just quietly floating, I think you are the ones who work hard below the surface to keep the provincial office afloat."

He continued, "I hope there will be many opportunities in Gyeonggi-do to work, study, for youth employment, business, and marriage, and I hope those opportunities are distributed very evenly," adding, "I want everyone to be equal regardless of whether they receive a lot or little, or whose child they were born as, and whether the spoon in their mouth is a golden spoon or not."

The menu of the day was Kalguksu (hand-cut noodle soup).

Governor Kim shared his thoughts on Kalguksu, saying, "My favorite food is Kalguksu, which my mother often made during difficult times. It holds many memories."

This meeting was part of Governor Kim Dong-yeon's communication efforts under the initiative "Gyeonggi-do of Opportunities in 2023 with the Residents." Earlier, on the 2nd, he attended the "New Year's Greeting with Residents," and on the 3rd, he had lunch with the chairpersons and standing chairpersons of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council. Governor Kim plans to pursue additional schedules for communication with residents.

Governor Kim also held luncheon encouragement meetings with a total of 69 on-site workers, including cleaners, on July 4 and 28 last year.
