[Asia Economy (Seongnam) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Seongnam City in Gyeonggi Province has disclosed a list of 148 campaign pledge projects and detailed implementation plans for each project on the city’s official website.
Since the launch of the 8th elected administration, Seongnam City reviewed 172 pledge tasks proposed by the Fairness and Innovation Committee (transition committee) over six months. The city held project promotion briefings, adjusted responsible departments and project names through the establishment of implementation plans for each project, checked detailed progress, and finalized 148 pledge projects on December 29 last year after deliberation by the Manifesto Evaluation Committee composed of 12 citizens and experts, the city announced on the 4th.
For systematic pledge management, the city classified the projects into nine fields such as administration, communication, and industry based on the city’s policy directions: ▲ Communication administration trusted for fairness and common sense ▲ Korea’s special city for the 4th industrial revolution ▲ Thick and meticulous customized welfare ▲ Smart transportation hub at the center of the metropolitan area ▲ Premium green city leading with creative culture, and established strategies accordingly.
A city official stated, “During Mayor Shin Sang-jin’s term, we plan to check the pledge implementation status quarterly and inform citizens, hold the Manifesto Evaluation Committee in the first and second halves of the year to evaluate outstanding projects, and increase the pledge implementation rate. We also intend to actively participate in evaluations by the Korea Manifesto Practice Headquarters, a corporation targeting basic local governments nationwide.”
