Check When, Why, and to Whom Personal Information Was Provided with Consent
[Asia Economy Reporter Minwoo Lee] Customers will now be able to check their personal information details viewed during the use of services on Toss at any time.
Viva Republica, the operator of the mobile financial platform Toss, announced on the 4th that it has launched the "Personal Information Safety Report" service.
Through this service, customers can clearly verify when, why, and to whom their consented personal information was provided. For example, during the 'remittance' process, customers can check that their name and account number are used by the Korea Financial Telecommunications & Clearings Institute and connected banks for withdrawal purposes. The Personal Information Safety Report can be accessed within the Toss application (app) under the 'All Tab'.
Currently, usage details can be checked for major services such as 'My Credit Score', 'Finding Loans Suitable for Me', remittance, currency exchange, and Toss Pay. This will be expanded to all services in the future.
To launch this service, Toss established a dedicated team called the 'Privacy Silo' in September last year. Going forward, they plan to enhance products that can gain users' trust, including the Personal Information Safety Report.
Seunggun Lee, CEO of Toss, emphasized, "To establish Toss as a service loved by many users, gaining a higher level of trust is essential," adding, "The value of trust gained by directly checking the use of personal information is significant."
