Kim Si-hwan Named Player of the Year, Kim Joo-hyung Leads in Batting Average
Kim Bi-o (photo) was named the Asian Tour Rookie of the Year.
The Asian Tour announced the list of major award winners for the 2022 season, including Player of the Year and Rookie of the Year, on the 4th. Kim Bi-o is the second Korean player to receive the Asian Tour Rookie of the Year award, following Park Sang-hyun in 2018.
Kim Bi-o joined the Asian Tour through the Qualifying (Q) School in 2020 and played his first full season last year. He earned prize money of $599,609 (approximately 760 million KRW), ranking 2nd in the prize money list, including a victory at the GS Caltex Maekyung Open held in Korea.
Kim Si-hwan (USA) was selected as the Asian Tour Player of the Year. Kim Si-hwan secured two wins last season and topped the prize money list with $627,458.
Kim Joo-hyung ranked first in scoring average (68.93 strokes), and Moon Kyung-jun led in greens in regulation percentage (77.41%).
