[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] Chung-Ang University Hospital announced on the 4th that it has established and is operating the 'Digital Cancer Center (D-CAM Center),' a personalized healthcare digital system for cancer patient management online.

The Chung-Ang University Hospital Digital Cancer Center provides integrated personalized healthcare services tailored to cancer types and treatment stages, including diagnosis, pre- and post-surgery, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, psychological treatment, and post-treatment care, in real-time online through the patient's smartphone. Its purpose is to achieve optimal cancer treatment outcomes and improve patients' quality of life.

Professor Han Deok-hyun, who led the establishment of the Chung-Ang University Hospital Digital Cancer Center, said, "The Digital Cancer Center is a hybrid intervention center combining online and offline services that manages cancer patients comprehensively and multidimensionally using digital personalized information and lifestyle management reflecting cancer type, stage, and individual characteristics. It provides services such as early cancer screening, accurate delivery of cancer-related knowledge and information, support for therapeutic decision-making processes, and lifestyle management through one-on-one personalized digital services."

In particular, the Chung-Ang University Hospital Digital Cancer Center recently developed and is utilizing the 'CAMA (CAncer MAnager)' service, a digital personalized smart application for breast cancer patients, led by Professor Kim Min-gyun of the Breast Surgery Department, Professor Kim Hee-jun of the Hematology-Oncology Department, Professor Kim Sun-mi of the Psychiatry Department, and Professor Han Deok-hyun.

This service allows breast cancer patients to check reliable personalized medical information, treatment plans and schedules, and medication information at a glance through their smartphone application (app). Most importantly, patients have a dedicated one-on-one manager who provides comprehensive online healthcare services such as treatment schedule management, management of treatment-related side effects, and communication, enabling continuous monitoring of the patient's condition and support for optimal breast cancer treatment.

Professor Kim Hee-jun said, "Cancer patient care does not end with a single surgery or chemotherapy session," and "The Chung-Ang University Hospital Digital Cancer Center is expected to greatly contribute to improving cancer patients' wellness by providing personalized information and one-on-one counseling based on evidence-based protocols."
