[Asia Economy Reporter Oh Su-yeon] LG Uplus announced on the 4th that it will implement a welfare system that gifts laptops to employees' families with children entering elementary, middle, or high school this year. This welfare system was first introduced last year after gathering employees' opinions.
The recipients eligible to receive laptops this year are employees' children who are about to enter elementary school (born in 2016), middle school (born in 2010), or high school (born in 2007). They can choose one from ▲LG Gram 14-inch ▲LG Gram 15-inch ▲LG Ultra Edge 16-inch. In addition to laptops, employees' children entering elementary or middle school will also receive school backpacks as gifts.
LG Uplus is expanding various welfare programs for its employees. In fact, LG Uplus extended the childcare leave period from a maximum of 1 year to a maximum of 2 years (1 year paid + 1 year unpaid), and expanded welfare benefits to allow employees living alone to have their immediate family members undergo comprehensive health checkups.
Lee Hee-sung, LG Uplus Labor Relations Support Manager, said, “We operate a welfare system that gifts presents to employees with children entering school so that our members can continue to live happy lives at home as well. We believe that when our members are happy, customers will be happy too, and we will continue to expand various welfare programs to create an organizational culture where everyone can work enthusiastically.”
