[Asia Economy (Yongin) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Yongin City in Gyeonggi Province is recruiting 45 members for a Delinquent Tax Management Team that will carry out customized collection activities ranging from guiding delinquent taxpayers on tax payment to linking welfare services.
The Delinquent Tax Management Team will, from March to September, visit local tax and non-tax revenue delinquent taxpayers to inform them of their delinquency and encourage payment. For livelihood-type delinquent taxpayers who have difficulty paying, the team will provide customized collection activities by linking welfare services.
Last year, Yongin City also operated the Delinquent Tax Management Team and achieved a collection of 3.9 billion KRW in delinquent taxes.
This year, the recruitment includes a total of 45 people: 14 telephone counselors who will encourage tax payment by phone and 31 field surveyors who will visit delinquent taxpayers for in-person consultations.
Any Yongin citizen aged 18 or older can apply. Applications can be submitted over two days, from the 18th to the 19th of this month, by referring to the recruitment announcement on the city hall website under 'Recruitment/Exam Information.'
The city will announce the final successful candidates on the 17th of next month after document screening and interviews.
Successful candidates will complete basic job training starting March 2 and then be assigned to departments such as the Collection Division to begin work.
A city official stated, "The Delinquent Tax Management Team will play a role not only in collecting delinquent taxes but also in helping vulnerable groups in welfare blind spots," adding, "Yongin City will continue to do its best for just tax administration."
