Gyeonggi-do Publishes Two Library Series Gyeonggi-do Library Series Cover

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Gyeonggi Province has published 'Gyeonggi-do Library Series 2 Types' to improve library services.

Since 2008, the 'Gyeonggi-do Library Series,' published two types annually and reaching its 30th volume this year, is a practical guidebook that can be used in libraries, containing excellent operation cases and solutions to major issues under the theme of library service development.

The 29th volume of the series is the 'Public Library English Specialized Service Operation Guide,' which introduces methods for selecting English books and examples of program operations based on the English library operation experience of the series author.

The 30th volume, 'Director's Email_Library Director's Public Library Management Notes,' introduces citizens who change and grow through libraries. It is a record of communication and organization of thoughts on how meaningful library activities are and library management through emails. Through the experience of a current library director, it presents field practical cases and operation secrets on the social role of libraries.

The library series, produced as standalone books, will be distributed to over 300 public libraries in Gyeonggi Province.

Kim Hyang-sook, Director of the Lifelong Education Bureau of Gyeonggi Province, said, "I hope this library series will be an opportunity for stakeholders to provide library services effectively and for library users to be more satisfied."

The Gyeonggi-do Library Series selects the final research topics through a public contest and a review meeting composed of academia and library-related experts. The contest plan is announced every January, and anyone related to libraries can apply.
