Jogyuil Jinju Mayor Inspects Site of ‘Banseong Station Closed Station Park Project’

‘Cham Iyagigil Bicycle Road Construction Project’

Mayor Jo Gyu-il is inspecting the site of the Banseong Station closure and park development project.

[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Choi Soon-kyung] Jo Gyu-il, mayor of Jinju City, Gyeongnam, inspected the site of the ‘Banseong Station Abandoned Station Park Project’ on the 3rd and encouraged the related personnel.

On that day, Mayor Jo listened to opinions related to the project from about 30 people, including volunteer groups from Ilbanseong-myeon and residents who attended the site inspection.

The Banseong Station Abandoned Station Park Project is a project implemented as part of the ‘Cham Iyagil Bicycle Road Construction Project,’ and it was started in July 2022 and completed in January with a project cost of 1.2 billion KRW on a site of 10,000㎡.

Mayor Jo said, “We will continue to create resting spaces where Jinju citizens and tourists visiting our city can comfortably relax by utilizing the abandoned railway site of the Gyeongjeon Line,” and added, “This year, we will actively work to improve the health of citizens and enhance their quality of life by revitalizing bicycle use through the maintenance of abandoned stations such as Nammunsan Station and Pyeongchon Station.”
