Meeting Residents Amid Difficult Economic Conditions to Exchange New Year Greetings
[Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Chunsu] Lee Byeongno, the mayor of Damyang County, visited Damyang Traditional Market as his first destination of the new year to extend warm New Year greetings to the residents and listen to their difficulties.
Since his inauguration, Mayor Lee has been visiting sites with the philosophy of "The answer is on-site" during the 8th elected term, listening to the voices of the residents and striving to implement county administration that residents can feel.
He then inspected the site of the Damyang Traditional Market reconstruction project, scheduled for completion this year.
The market, newly opened through the traditional market modernization project, will have a total floor area of 6,213㎡ and three above-ground floors, with a total construction cost of 15.3 billion KRW invested.
The first floor will have 50 permanent stores, the second floor will feature a food court and restaurants, and the third floor will be reborn as a rooftop garden-style market with rest and convenience facilities, allowing shoppers to enjoy a pleasant and clean environment.
Mayor Lee Byeongno said, “I wish happiness and health to the lives of the residents in the Year of the Black Rabbit,” and added, “This year, the practical first year of the 8th elected term, which will open a new future for Damyang together with the residents, we will definitely lead positive changes that residents can feel.”
