Yoon Young-jun, Hyundai Construction CEO, "We May Face a Complex Crisis... Will Undertake Structural Reform"

[Asia Economy Reporter Kim Hyemin] Yoon Young-jun, CEO of Hyundai Engineering & Construction, stated in his New Year's address on the 3rd, "This year, we may face a complex crisis unlike anything we have experienced before," urging for organizational culture and structural improvements to overcome it.


CEO Yoon said, "This year, uncertainty is increasing due to the economic chill and conflicts among economic powers," and emphasized, "We must overcome the crisis by eliminating inefficiencies through changes in work methods and improving our structure based on transparency and ethical awareness."


He particularly stressed strengthening the structure in terms of safety and quality, saying, "Safety issues are not just problems at the company level but can escalate into national social disasters, so we must always be aware of this and concentrate the company's full capabilities on perfect safety management," and added, "Let's accelerate technological development and lead construction quality."


CEO Yoon continued, "Improving organizational culture and structure is a prerequisite for enhancing the capabilities of each member," and added, "Employees who produce excellent results will be supported and rewarded regardless of their position."


He also cited next-generation nuclear power technologies such as Small Modular Reactors (SMR) and the pioneering of new overseas markets as notable achievements over the past year. CEO Yoon expressed gratitude to employees, saying, "Through domestic and international mega projects, last year's order performance is expected to approach 20 trillion won."


This year's management policies were selected as ▲ sustainable growth ▲ realization of humanity's dreams and imagination ▲ transparent and fair organizational culture.
