"Yoon is having a lot of difficulties, please help"... Jo Sujin and Hwang Boseunghui convey Kim Geonhee's 'support'

[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Ji-eun] It has been revealed that Kim Geon-hee, the wife of President Yoon Seok-yeol, actively supported him by asking members of the People Power Party to "help the President" at the '2023 New Year's Meeting' hosted by the President on the 2nd.

On the 3rd, Hwang Bo-seung-hee, a member of the People Power Party, posted on her social media, "The First Lady said she supports the roles of female lawmakers and will invite us soon," adding, "We will work even harder so that the public can smile brightly."

Cho Soo-jin, a People Power Party lawmaker who attended the event, also conveyed via SNS that Kim said, "I have been watching you closely since your reporter days," and "The President is still facing many difficulties. Please continue to help in the new year."

The New Year's meeting, held in a 'standing meeting' format without designated tables or chairs, saw President Yoon and the First Lady move around each table, shaking hands and engaging in conversations with lawmakers. President Yoon, seemingly aware of the 'Yoonshim (尹心)' controversy, reportedly said, "The Presidential Office and the residence are open to all lawmakers. They are open to anyone who makes a request."

Five key figures from the three branches of government attended the meeting, including National Assembly Speaker Kim Jin-pyo, Supreme Court Chief Justice Kim Myung-soo, Prime Minister Han Duck-soo, Constitutional Court Chief Justice Yoo Nam-seok, and Central Election Commission Chairman Noh Tae-ak. From the National Assembly, the chairs of the Steering, Strategy and Finance, Foreign Affairs, National Defense, and Intelligence Committees, the Secretary-General of the National Assembly, People Power Party floor leader Joo Ho-young, and Justice Party leader Lee Jeong-mi were present.

Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, did not attend, citing the party's schedule in Busan.
