Renault Korea Sold 170,000 Units Domestically and Internationally Last Year, Up 28% YoY Renault Korea XM3 (export name Arkana) being loaded onto an export vessel

[Asia Economy Reporter Choi Dae-yeol] Renault Korea Motors announced on the 3rd that it sold 9,677 units domestically and internationally last month. This represents a decrease of about 24% compared to December 2021 and about 44% compared to the previous month, November last year. This was due to difficulties in semiconductor parts supply and challenges with export shipping.


Last year's annual domestic sales totaled 52,621 units, and exports amounted to 117,020 units. The total annual sales reached 169,641 units, an increase of about 27% compared to 2021. Domestic sales decreased by about 14%, but exports increased by 63%, driving the overall performance.


The compact sports utility vehicle (SUV) XM3 (export name Renault Arkana) sold a total of 99,166 units, mainly hybrid models. This is a 75% increase compared to one year ago. The hybrid models accounted for 59% of the total export volume. The mid-size SUV QM6 (export name Renault Koleos) export volume was 17,329 units, a 24% increase during the same period.


Domestically, the QM6 sold 27,440 units, a 27% decrease compared to the previous year. The LPG-fueled LPe model of the QM6 was the best-selling with 18,473 units. The XM3 sold 19,425 units domestically, an increase of about 18% during the same period.
