Kim Dong-yeon Meets Gyeonggi Provincial Assembly Leadership, "Let's Cooperate in the New Year"

[Asia Economy (Suwon) = Reporter Lee Young-gyu] Kim Dong-yeon, Governor of Gyeonggi Province, expressed his intention to continue cooperation with the Gyeonggi Provincial Council for the residents and public welfare in the new year, following last year.

On the 3rd, Governor Kim held a luncheon meeting with the chairpersons and standing committee heads of the Provincial Council at Dodamso in Paldal-gu, Suwon (former governor's official residence), stating, "Last year, we overcame various difficulties and cooperated with the Provincial Council. While central politics or other metropolitan cities could not achieve this, the ruling and opposition parties of the Provincial Council and the executive branch engaged in many discussions, overcame differences, passed the budget, and approved the organizational restructuring plan well." He added, "In the new year, I hope we join hands to improve the quality of life for Gyeonggi residents, ensure their safety and lives, and boost the dynamism of Gyeonggi's economy."

He continued, "There may be differences and slightly different opinions, but let's put them all on the table, open our hearts, and discuss together." He added, "I urge everyone to go beyond ruling and opposition parties and beyond the council and the executive branch for the residents."

Yeom Jong-hyun, Chairperson of the Gyeonggi Provincial Council, said, "Last year, in a situation where everyone expected difficulties, Gyeonggi Province and the Provincial Council created a platform for communication and cooperation beyond conflicts and confrontations." He added, "This year is also expected to be very challenging both domestically and internationally, but I hope Gyeonggi Province will focus solely on the residents and achieve substantial policy outcomes together."

The luncheon meeting on this day was the second communication event welcoming the new year, following the luncheon with residents who attended the 'New Year's Greeting with Residents' on the 2nd.

Governor Kim will continue his communication efforts by holding a luncheon meeting to encourage on-site workers such as cleaning staff at the government office on the 4th.
