[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Gwiyeol] Yeongyang-gun, Gyeongbuk Province, will evaluate outstanding public officials who resolve citizens' grievances starting this year and grant special personnel points based on the difficulty level.
As a personnel benefit, public officials selected every half-year (6 months) will be awarded additional work performance points ranging from a maximum of 0.5 points to a minimum of 0.2 points.
Grievances refer to complaints related to public inconvenience, burdens, and infringement of rights. The evaluation targets all grievances resolved within the target period regardless of the occurrence time or the reception/recognition route (such as the National Sinmungo, various instructions related to complaints).
Evaluations are conducted every six months. Based on the scoring criteria for effort, difficulty, and performance, the Comprehensive Complaints Department conducts the first written evaluation, followed by a face-to-face evaluation by the Grievance Evaluation Committee chaired by the Deputy County Governor, and finally, the Work Performance Evaluation Committee reviews and determines the additional points.
Oh Do-chang, the governor of Yeongyang-gun, said, “Once this policy is established, it will increase citizen satisfaction through proactive grievance resolution and achieve a twofold effect by also receiving incentives.”
