[Asia Economy Reporter Lee Gwan-joo] The Remote Medical Industry Council (Wonsanhyeop) under the Korea Startup Forum announced on the 3rd that it has sent a cooperation letter to operators of non-face-to-face medical brokerage platforms, requesting compliance with the 'Duties and Responsibilities of Non-Face-to-Face Medical Brokerage Platforms.'
Wonsanhyeop stated at the 2nd regular general meeting on the 21st of last month that, ahead of the full-scale institutionalization efforts, the non-face-to-face medical brokerage platform industry is committed to creating a safe non-face-to-face medical environment.
As part of this initiative, Wonsanhyeop also delivered the cooperation letter to 18 non-member companies, asking them to join efforts to alleviate social concerns about non-face-to-face medical brokerage platforms, while encouraging companies interested in responsible industry activities to join Wonsanhyeop.
The 'Duties and Responsibilities of Non-Face-to-Face Medical Brokerage Platforms' include ▲cessation of using prescription drugs in advertising materials ▲strict protection of user personal information ▲firm response to partner institutions violating related laws ▲restriction on partnerships with specialized non-face-to-face hospitals and delivery-specialized pharmacies ▲compliance with temporary non-face-to-face medical brokerage platform guidelines.
Since its launch in July 2021, Wonsanhyeop currently has a total of 18 member companies participating. With the government announcing efforts to revise laws for the institutionalization of non-face-to-face medical services, Wonsanhyeop plans to continue communication with the Ministry of Health and Welfare for legislation, promote National Assembly forums and the establishment of legal entities, and engage in various activities aimed at institutionalizing non-face-to-face medical services based on social consensus.
