Produced as digital audio material
The National Gugak Center announced on the 3rd that it has published the 'Standard Textbook Sheet Music Collection.' This is a guide to gugak education compiling over 200 pieces of sheet music to be used in elementary, middle, and high school textbooks. It includes 45 traditional children's songs, 50 local folk songs, 41 popular folk songs, 42 instrumental pieces, and 31 listening pieces. Approximately 15% new pieces were added in accordance with the 2022 curriculum. The National Gugak Center explained, "We proposed standard sheet music for each educational level to dispel concerns about confusion caused by differences in folk and traditional children's song sheet music among publishers." Twelve people, including professors from education universities and active teachers, participated in the production. The quality was enhanced through gugak policy seminars and multiple advisory meetings. The sheet music collection will be distributed to major national and public libraries and university libraries nationwide. It can also be downloaded from the National Gugak Center's website. The Center stated, "We plan to produce digital audio materials by 2024 to expand its usage."
