[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] Pukyong National University (President Jang Young-su) showed a competition rate of 6.26 to 1 in this year's regular admission for new students, significantly higher than last year's regular admission competition rate.
Pukyong National University received applications for the 2023 academic year regular admission from December 29 to January 2, with 5,089 applicants for 813 openings.
Last year's regular admission competition rate was 5.16 to 1 (1,124 openings with 5,797 applicants), showing a substantial increase this year.
By recruitment group, Group A had a competition rate of 5.48 to 1 (383 openings with 2,097 applicants), Group B had 5.86 to 1 (356 openings with 2,085 applicants), and Group C had 43.63 to 1 (19 openings with 829 applicants).
In Group A, the Department of Physics had the highest competition rate with 12.63 to 1, as 101 applicants applied for 8 openings, and the Department of Earth Environmental System Science, Marine Science major, had 71 applicants for 8 openings, showing a competition rate of 8.88 to 1.
In Group B, the Department of Earth Environmental System Science, Environmental Geology major, had a competition rate of 10 to 1 with 70 applicants for 7 openings, and the Department of Chinese Studies had 39 applicants for 4 openings, showing a competition rate of 9.75 to 1.
In Group C, the Department of Scientific Computing had the highest competition rate of 57.2 to 1, with 286 applicants for 5 openings.
The practical exam schedule for Pukyong National University's regular admission is from the 12th to the 13th, and successful candidates will be announced on February 3 on the Pukyong National University website.
