[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] Changwon National University held its 2023 opening ceremony on the 2nd at the Global Lifelong Learning Center Auditorium.

At the opening ceremony, government awards were presented, university development merit certificates were awarded, the president delivered a New Year's address, and a New Year's greeting event took place.

President Lee Ho-young said, "This will be my last New Year's address as the 8th president," adding, "I will do my best to complete the remaining term without losing the initial determination I had when I took office."

He emphasized, "Although the environment surrounding higher education is very challenging due to the decline in the school-age population, as the only national university in Changwon Special City representing Gyeongnam, we must fulfill our mission as a university that lives up to its status and reputation."

He continued, "By successfully carrying out many projects currently underway at our university, establishing the foundation for the law school and medical school, securing the new designation of Changwon National Industrial Complex 2.0, and actively promoting the Campus Innovation Park, we will reshape the landscape of Changwon City and Gyeongnam centered around Changwon National University."
