[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Lee Seryeong] “Let’s adopt a Kairos mindset to make Gyeongnam safer this year.”

Kim Byung-su, Commissioner of the Gyeongnam Provincial Police Agency, said this on the 2nd at the 2023 opening ceremony, referring to the ‘Kairos time’ from Greek mythology.

According to the myth, Kairos time refers to time spent with conscious purpose, unlike ‘Chronos,’ which signifies the physical time that flows unchangingly.

He said, “Let’s actively spend time in our respective positions and create better public safety activities.”

Commissioner Kim stated, “It is important not just to replace last year’s calendar with this year’s or buy a new diary, but to create a Kairos moment that can be a turning point in life. For this, the most important thing is our attitude toward time. Let’s not waste even a minute or a second, and strive to find meaning in life and create new value.”

Earlier, Commissioner Kim began the new year’s first work by visiting the Changwon Memorial Tower with the command staff.

At the Memorial Tower, Commissioner Kim and the command staff pledged, “We will become a fair and dignified police force for a safe Gyeongnam.”
