Chungnam, 6.54 Million Won in Donations on First Day of Hometown Love Donation Program

[Asia Economy (Hongseong) Reporter Jeong Il-woong] Chungnam Province received donations totaling 6.54 million KRW from 10 donors on the first day of implementing the Hometown Love Donation Program.

According to the province on the 2nd, the Hometown Love Donation Program began the previous day. On the first day of implementation, donors by amount were counted as one person donating 5 million KRW, one person donating 1 million KRW, and eight people donating less than 100,000 KRW.

On the second day (the 2nd), Chungnam Governor Kim Tae-heum visited the NongHyup Central Association Chungnam-Sejong Regional Headquarters as his first official schedule and donated 300,000 KRW each to 14 cities and counties within the province, excluding his own address (totaling 4.2 million KRW).

Donors can contribute up to an annual limit of 5 million KRW to local governments of their choice.

Donors receive tax credit benefits and return gifts, and local governments use the donations for residents' welfare.

On the 22nd of last month, the province appointed the following Chungnam natives as promotional ambassadors: actor Kang Bu-ja (Nonsan), comedian Nam Hee-seok (Boryeong), comedian An So-mi (Boryeong), soccer player Yeom Ki-hoon (Nonsan), actor Jung Joon-ho (Yesan), and singer Han Yeoreum (Hongseong).

Additionally, the province formed the ‘Chungnam Hometown Love Advisory Group’ to promote the successful establishment of the program.

A provincial official stated, “The province will do its best to activate the Hometown Love Donation Program through substantial promotion, including diversifying return gift items and discovering projects to utilize the donations.”
