[Asia Economy Reporter Sunmi Park] Samsung Electronics will unveil a large number of new products to be released this year, including the world's first dual UHD gaming monitor, at CES 2023, the world's largest electronics exhibition held in Las Vegas, USA, from the 5th to the 8th (local time).
▲ The world's first gaming monitor supporting dual UHD resolution, 'Odyssey Neo G9' ▲ Gaming monitor equipped with an OLED panel, 'Odyssey OLED G9' ▲ 5K high-resolution monitor 'ViewFinity S9' ▲ 'Smart Monitor M8' are the four newly introduced products.
The 'Odyssey Neo G9' features a 57-inch size, approximately 37% larger (area basis) than the previous model (49-inch), with a 1000R curvature curved design. It is the world's first gaming monitor to support dual UHD resolution (7680 x 2160). In particular, it is the world's first monitor to support the DP 2.1 standard, enabling the highest level of image quality.
The 'Odyssey OLED G9', equipped with a 49-inch OLED panel, is also introduced. It is a gaming monitor with a curved design of 1800R curvature, a 32:9 wide screen, and supports dual QHD (5120 x 1440) resolution. It features an OLED panel capable of pixel-level brightness control, supports a high refresh rate of up to 240Hz, and a near real-time response speed of 0.1ms (GTG).
The 'ViewFinity S9', a premium high-resolution monitor for professionals such as graphic designers and photographers who require long hours of high-quality image and video work, is also unveiled. The 27-inch ViewFinity S9 offers 5K (5120 x 2880) resolution with approximately 15 million pixels, four times more than QHD, and expresses 99% of colors based on DCI-P3. It supports 'hardware calibration' for precise image quality correction such as white balance and gamma, as well as 'smart calibration' that allows easy image quality correction via a smartphone app.
Samsung Electronics also introduces the 'Smart Monitor M8' in 27-inch and 32-inch sizes. These UHD resolution products come in four colors: Warm White, Sunset Pink, Spring Green, and Daylight Blue. The 2023 model features a SmartThings hub that automatically connects, controls, and manages various devices.
Jung Hoon, Vice President of Samsung Electronics' Visual Display Business Division, said, "We have completed the 2023 monitor lineup reflecting the diverse needs of consumers," adding, "We will continue to introduce products that provide the best user experience based on Samsung Electronics' technological innovation and expertise."
