Jung Jae-gwan, Retired Army Brigadier General, Appointed as the 16th Chairman of the Military Mutual Aid Association

[Asia Economy Reporter Yang Nak-gyu, Military Specialist] The Military Mutual Aid Association announced on the 2nd that Jeong Jae-gwan (62), a retired Army Brigadier General from the 38th class of Korea Military Academy, has been inaugurated as the 16th Chairman.


Chairman Jeong graduated from the 38th class of Korea Military Academy and served as the Director of Civil-Military Operations at the ROK-US Combined Forces Command and Ground Component Command, Chief of Civil-Military Operations at the Joint Chiefs of Staff, and Director of the National Assembly Cooperation Division at the Ministry of National Defense. His term will last until February 14, 2024, completing the remaining term of the 15th Chairman who resigned early.


Prior to this, Chairman Jeong was elected as Chairman at the 113th Delegates Meeting, which consisted of a total of 37 active-duty soldiers and civilian employees, and was inaugurated on the same day after receiving approval from the Minister of National Defense.


In his inauguration speech, Chairman Jeong emphasized management principles including expanding member funds and enhancing tangible welfare, stable and strategic asset management, establishing sustainable management through advanced management practices, and fostering an organizational culture of ethical management.


The Military Mutual Aid Association is a mutual aid organization that promotes the stability of life and welfare of soldiers and civilian employees, with assets reaching 15 trillion won as of the end of last year.
