Executive Director Dang Hyoseong Promoted to 'Partner and Vice President'

Second Female Partner, Expanding Equality and Inclusion in Capital Markets
[Asia Economy Reporter Kwangho Lee] MBK Partners, the largest private equity firm in Northeast Asia, has appointed its second female partner. On the 2nd, MBK Partners announced that Dang Hyoseong, Executive Director and Head of Legal Affairs, has been promoted to Partner and Vice President effective from the 1st.
Partner Dang Hyoseong graduated from Seoul National University with a degree in Business Administration. She then earned a Juris Doctor degree from Columbia University Law School in the United States in 2006. She worked at major law firms including Milbank’s New York office and Orrick, Herrington & Sutcliffe’s Hong Kong office. She also served as an international lawyer at Covington & Burling’s Seoul office. She joined MBK Partners in 2017.
Amid the increasing importance of legal responsibilities, obligations, and related regulations in capital markets and corporate activities, Partner Dang has significantly contributed to MBK Partners’ growth into a top-tier independent private equity firm in Asia with world-class legal, governance, and risk management capabilities. As General Counsel, she plays a pivotal role in all investments, exits, fundraising, internal operations, and legal advisory for portfolio companies at MBK Partners.
Following Vice President and Chief Financial Officer (CFO) Lee Inkyung, Partner Dang is MBK Partners’ second female partner, and is expected to further expand and strengthen the status and role of women in the capital markets.
With her promotion, Partner Dang will participate in MBK Partners’ key decision-making processes and will exercise investment decision authority as a member of the Investment Committee.
