[Asia Economy Reporter Jang Hyowon] Dragonfly, a renowned FPS developer, announced on the 2nd that it has signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with the underground culture brand BASECREAM for content business collaboration.
This agreement is part of a project celebrating the 19th anniversary of Dragonfly’s flagship IP, Special Force, and involves revamping the background music of Special Force together with BASECREAM.
Special Force is an action shooting game featuring soldiers with strong mental fortitude from special forces units chasing and targeting each other, characterized by dynamic motions through realistic combat. Music genres that complement this well?such as ▲hip-hop ▲hard rock ▲orchestra?will be produced sequentially, with the first release being a hip-hop OST, a hot icon among the MZ generation.
BASECREAM is a compound word of 'basement' and 'scream,' celebrating its 10th anniversary this year. Kim Suchan (WOLFKOOKY), the crew leader and director, has gained experience by engaging with many brands leading street culture. Based on this, BASECREAM has been steadily establishing its presence through branding, music, performances, and party planning to promote street culture including ▲hip-hop ▲underground music ▲skateboarding.
A Dragonfly representative stated, “As the gaming industry is recognized as a form of cultural art, we are strengthening our lineup to drive further development. Through collaboration with BASECREAM, which has the energy and power to lead young people, we expect continuous value-up by gaining hip-hop synergy.”
Meanwhile, Dragonfly has recently been expanding its scope by actively pioneering new content markets using the Special Force IP through collaborations with companies such as CJ ENM, keeping pace with the rapidly growing speed every year.
