[Asia Economy Reporter Eunmo Koo] Shin Dong-won, Chairman of Nongshim, stated, "For sustainable growth, we must first establish a sound structure. Let's review, improve, and organize the overall management framework to create a foundation that allows us to grow and develop even in times of crisis."
On the 2nd, Chairman Shin delivered a New Year's message to all employees via email. He first urged everyone to focus on efforts to enhance management efficiency. This means simplifying unnecessary processes and aiming for better results through swift decision-making.
He continued, "Global business expansion is a timely challenge," emphasizing the need to strengthen competitiveness on the world stage. Specifically, he called for reorganizing infrastructure, processes, and core competencies to meet the standards of global companies. Additionally, he said, "We must actively pursue diversification of business areas," urging to advance and nurture health functional foods, plant factory solutions, and the dining-out business, and to actively consider mergers and acquisitions (M&A) that can generate synergy with Nongshim's business capabilities.
Finally, Chairman Shin added, "Let us not tremble in fear when looking at the environment outside the window, but rather look at our reflection in the window, strengthen our internal foundation, and build a healthier and stronger Nongshim."
