[Jangseong=Asia Economy Honam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Jo Hangyu] Jangseong-gun, Jeonnam, started the new year 2023 together with its residents.
On the morning of the 1st, Jangseong-gun held a New Year's sunrise event at the Jangseongho embankment.
About 200 residents, Kim Han-jong, the governor of Jangseong-gun, Ko Jae-jin, chairman of the Jangseong County Council, provincial and county council members, and heads of social organizations gathered in one place to welcome the new year.
The event began with a Nongak performance wishing for happiness in the new year by the Jangseong Gugak Association, followed by congratulatory poem recitations and congratulatory speeches by the Jangseong Literary Association.
Governor Kim said, "We will continue the emphasis on harmony and communication, which has been the key policy of the 8th elected administration, without change in the new year."
The residents, shouting the slogan of the 8th elected administration, "Jangseong you want to visit! Happy encounters!" in three cheers, then shared rice cake soup prepared by Jangseong Nonghyup and exchanged well-wishes.
