The era of a 1 trillion won annual budget, Jungnang-gu leaps forward even bigger

Respected and beloved residents of Jungnang-gu! The dawn of the new year 2023 has risen carrying everyone's dreams. Leave behind the regrets of the past year and fill the coming days with hope and expectation.

We bow our heads in deep gratitude for the great and broad love you always send to Jungnang-gu. Last year, with the warm encouragement and cooperation of Jungnang-gu residents, we overcame sudden disasters and achieved many accomplishments. ‘Mangu History and Culture Park’ and ‘Reading a Thousand Books Before School’ have become the pride of Jungnang. We extend our deepest respect and thanks to all Jungnang-gu residents who have accompanied us with warm companionship.

The first six months after the start of the 8th elected term were a time to meet Jungnang-gu residents and gather wisdom. We held passionate discussions on-site to organize the specific direction of projects and secured the budget by uniting the aspirations of Jungnang-gu residents.

The 2023 new year budget is 1.0162 trillion won. This is the first time since the opening of Jungnang-gu in 1988 that the budget has surpassed 1 trillion won. Many people have gathered their wisdom and passion for the development of Jungnang-gu. We are truly grateful. In the new year, Jungnang-gu will expand manpower and organization to focus on improving the residential environment, a long-standing wish of residents, and protect residents' safety with a stronger prevention system.

Also, together with Jungnang-gu residents, we will unite our strength to make Jungnang-gu the strongest public education city in Seoul and a new economic and residential hub in the northeastern region of Seoul. We will accelerate the preparation of a wider and new complex government building to expand cooperation and communication, provide more detailed welfare, and offer learning opportunities accessible to everyone. Furthermore, we will proudly nurture Jungnang’s cultural heritage, including Mangu History and Culture Park, and actively support cultural and sports activities enjoyed by Jungnang-gu residents in daily life.

Respected residents of Nowon-gu and readers of Asia Economy, hello. I am Oh Seung-rok, Mayor of Nowon-gu.

The new year of 2023, the Year of the Black Rabbit (Gyemyo), has dawned. Like the red sun rising to awaken the dawn, I wish you all a year full of hope.

First, I sincerely thank the residents who sent warm interest and affectionate support over the past year and gave me the opportunity to serve again as mayor for the development of Nowon.

I will respond to your trust with results, bearing a solemn sense of responsibility. Please join us on the vigorous journey toward ‘Nowon, a cultural city you look forward to tomorrow.’ We will prepare and move forward step by step for a vibrant Nowon that stands tall as a self-sufficient city.

First, we will create Nowon as a future city dreaming of a 100-year leap.

Second, we will realize Nowon as a faster and more convenient transportation city.

Third, we will build Nowon as a cultural city with pauses for rest.

Fourth, we will complete Nowon as a healing city adding rest to nature.

Fifth, we will make Nowon an educational city nurturing innovative talents.

Sixth, we will create Nowon as a warm health and welfare city with sharing.

Dear residents of Nowon-gu!

Above all, we will prioritize protecting the lives and safety of residents as the highest value of district administration and carefully check if there are any places where administrative reach is lacking. Efforts to Deliver Tangible Results to Residents Despite Limited Property Rights, Job Shortages, Inconvenient Public Transportation, and Aging Residential Environment

The new year of the Black Rabbit (Gyemyo) has dawned.

I extend my deep respect and gratitude to the residents who have shown unwavering interest and support to Dobong-gu over the past year.

During the first six months of the 8th elected term, I met residents on-site and felt how great their aspirations are for the development and progress of our region.

2023 is the year when major projects of the 8th elected term will be actively promoted and also marks the 50th anniversary of the opening of Dobong-gu Office. At this turning point, this year Dobong will strive to deliver results that residents can feel in areas such as limited property rights, job shortages, inconvenient public transportation, and aging residential environments.

I ask all residents to continue to join us in Dobong’s new leap and endless progress, as expressed in the 8th elected term’s catchphrase, ‘Together! Change, Growth, Future Dobong.’

Looking back, the past year was a very difficult time for everyone due to unprecedented disasters and accidents. I hope the new year will be a time when our society can overcome pain and talk about healing and hope.
