[Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Kim Yong-woo] A company in Changwon, Gyeongnam, has attracted global attention for its air pollution prevention technology.
Seco Hightech, located in Jinhae-gu, Changwon City, recently received a commendation from the National Assembly in recognition of its air environment technology capabilities.
The company's air pollution removal technology is neither the conventional method using activated carbon with high adsorption properties like charcoal, nor the existing technique that burns pollutants captured from the air at high temperatures using expensive energy costs, drawing attention from related industries and the world.
Researchers and companies have continuously challenged themselves to safely treat organic compounds present as gases in the atmosphere that cause environmental pollution.
Seco Hightech's self-developed air prevention device was recognized for its technology and stability, receiving a commendation from the Chairman of the National Assembly's Public Administration and Security Committee (Assemblyman Lee Chae-ik) on the 28th.
Seco Hightech's environmental pollution prevention technology, the VET system, processes 99% of volatile organic compounds (VOCs) that volatilize into the air and generate fine dust or ozone, without incineration, using an ACF filter and electron beam.
Therefore, it boasts the advantage of significantly reducing processing costs such as consumable maintenance and energy expenses compared to conventional methods.
This technology processes pollutants without generating dioxins and nitrogen oxide gases produced during incineration, thereby reducing greenhouse gas emissions and eliminating the risk of explosion accidents frequently occurring in industrial sites.
The National Assembly awarded the commendation in recognition of these contributions to alleviating such concerns and contributing to national economic development.
Seco Hightech is a technology-innovative small and medium enterprise selected by the Ministry of SMEs and Startups, and has received the highest technology certification for two consecutive years in the Technology Credit Evaluation (TCB) conducted by NICE Evaluation Information, a specialized technology credit evaluation company.
It is also a technology-strong company highly evaluated for its contributions to national economic development, having received the ‘Korea Innovation Enterprise Award’ and the ‘Korea Value Management Award’.
The company is expanding as a global environmental platform company providing total ESG (Environment, Social, Governance) management solutions, as well as research and development and engineering of environmental facilities.
Joo Cheol-in, CEO of Seco Hightech, said, “I am very pleased that our technology and safety have been recognized,” adding, “Our goal is to lead the air prevention device technology as a global environmental company through relentless effort and research.”
