Youngpoong Cultural Foundation Donates 100 Million KRW for Neighbor Aid to Gyeongbuk Province ... [Asia Economy Yeongnam Reporting Headquarters Reporter Koo Dae-sun] The Youngpoong Cultural Foundation visited the Gyeongbuk Provincial Government Office in Andong City, Gyeongbuk Province on the 30th and donated 100 million won to help neighbors in need.


The donation ceremony was attended by Bae Sang-yoon, Head of Youngpoong Seokpo Smelter, Lee Cheol-woo, Governor of Gyeongbuk Province, and Jeon Woo-heon, Chairman of the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea.


This donation will be used through the Gyeongbuk Community Chest of Korea to assist marginalized groups experiencing economic and social difficulties due to the prolonged COVID-19 pandemic and economic recession.


Earlier, on the 21st, the Youngpoong Cultural Foundation also donated a total of 200 million won to Bonghwa County, Gyeongbuk Province, including 100 million won for home repairs for low-income vulnerable groups and 100 million won for supporting children in vulnerable groups.


A representative of the Youngpoong Cultural Foundation said, "Although it is a small contribution, we hope it will help where a helping hand is needed," and added, "We will continue to fulfill our social responsibility to resolve welfare blind spots and support vulnerable groups."


Youngpoong operates the Seokpo Smelter in Bonghwa County, Gyeongbuk Province, which has annual sales of 1.3 trillion won, employs about 1,300 people regularly, and ranks third in the world in zinc production.


The Youngpoong Cultural Foundation, under Youngpoong, consistently donates cash and goods every year and leads sharing practices through various social contribution activities such as supporting heating costs, living expenses, and medical expenses for vulnerable groups in the region.
