For the selection of the 2nd phase areas, a total of 20 cities and counties applied, and finally, eight areas were selected: Gangseo-gu in Seoul, Yeongdo-gu in Busan, Yangpyeong-gun in Gyeonggi, Gangneung-si in Gangwon, Cheongju-si in Chungbuk, Iksan-si in Jeonbuk, Andong-si in Gyeongbuk, and Seogwipo-si in Jeju.
The eight selected areas will receive a total budget of 985 million won and financial and administrative support such as expert consulting until 2026. Based on this, customized project plans considering regional characteristics will be established next year, and from 2024 to 2026, efforts will be made to build self-sustaining systems including the establishment of local welfare infrastructure.
